2025 has been another whirlwind year for Lock Stock Self Storage. One defined by community partnerships, landmark openings, major acquisitions and countless meaningful moments across the regions we proudly serve.
From supporting local charities to welcoming new towns into the Lock Stock family, the past 12 months have reinforced what matters most to us: growing responsibly, staying local, and giving back wherever we can.
Starting the Year with Purpose
We began 2025 by backing an extraordinary cause, supporting the My Name’5 Doddie campaign as cyclists from the Vale of Clwyd embarked on an epic journey through England, Wales and Ireland. The ride culminated at Murrayfield during the Six Nations, raising awareness and vital funds for motor neurone disease research, a powerful way to kick off the year.
Sustainability also remained firmly on our agenda. In Denbigh, we joined forces with One Earth Education and fellow local businesses to learn more about reducing carbon emissions and committing to greener practices — an important step forward in our ongoing environmental journey.
A Year of Donkeys, Donations and Determination
If 2025 will be remembered for one thing internally, it may well be the year of the donkey. In March, Lock Stock donated a 40-foot container to Snowdonia Donkeys, a charity dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating animals that have suffered neglect. Now located on the outskirts of Bangor, the unit is used to store vital equipment that supports the charity’s incredible work.

As Easter approached, our area managers were once again out in force, delivering donations across the network. Foodbanks, baby groups, children’s organisations and hospitals in Bangor, Leominster and Rhyl all benefited — small acts that made a very real difference in their communities.
Spring also brought moments of celebration and support. We were proud sponsors of the Lock Stock Ardal Northern League, presenting medals and trophies as Rhyl and Brickfield Rangers secured promotion and Porthmadog lifted the League Cup. Away from the pitch, Lock Stock stepped in to help Westwood Primary School in Buckley after vandals destroyed the school’s garden, replacing stolen tools and helping pupils get back to growing and learning.
A Summer of Expansion
The summer of 2025 marked one of the busiest and most significant periods in Lock Stock’s 25-year history.
In June, our first Cheshire site officially opened in Winsford, a major milestone as the gates swung open to welcome customers to the town. Just days later, we announced the acquisition of three additional sites in Runcorn, Wincham and Lostock Gralam following our purchase from U Lock It.

This expansion pushed Lock Stock beyond 5,000 storage units nationwide, a landmark achievement that reflects both the hard work of our team and the trust of our customers.
Community in Full Force
The second half of the year saw our community work continue at pace. In August, our first Winsford community initiative saw donations delivered to Changing Lives Together, supporting their work with local families and individuals in need.
September followed with Lock Stock proudly sponsoring the Northwich Beer Festival, just a month after supporting the Cheshire Scooter Rally, both events celebrating local culture, businesses and community spirit.

As the year began to draw to a close, we returned to Winsford once more, donating a hand-crafted hamper filled with the best of Wales to the Mayor of Winsford as part of a fundraiser for a baby-loss charity, a cause close to many hearts.
Finishing the Year Strong
Not content with opening and acquiring four sites, Lock Stock announced two more major developments before the end of the year. Our Aberystwyth site opened in November, bringing eco-friendly storage to the heart of the town, while Crewe was confirmed as our next opening, set to follow shortly.

The festive period was as busy as ever. Lock Stock supported Christmas events and made donations across Henllan, Winsford, Ludlow, Aberystwyth and Crewe — including, fittingly, even more donkey-related visits. We also paid a visit to Winsford United following our new sponsorship agreement with the club and rounded off the year by donating £500 to the League of Friends at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, providing their biggest prize ever.
Looking Ahead
As 2025 comes to a close, we’re incredibly proud of what’s been achieved, not just in terms of growth and expansion, but in the relationships built and the communities supported along the way.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of Lock Stock’s journey this year. We can’t wait to see what 2026 brings.
