2024 has been one of the busiest years ever for Lock Stock Self Storage with two brand new sites and tens of thousands of pounds put back into local communities.

In what’s been a hectic 12 months, here we look back at a phenomenal year.

To kick off the year Lock Stock paid a visit to Liverpool where Knowlsley Food Bank reported a huge increase in demand with nearly a quarter of a million food parcels handed out in 2023.

The Foodbank operates six locations and 23 food clubs across Liverpool, the Wirral and into North Wales, and received donations from the likes of Costco, M&S, Greggs and Amazon as well as from local businesses like Lock Stock Self-Storage having just opened our Hyuton branch.

Business continued rolling shortly after with a number of customers requiring site moves and with Lock Stock’s seamless container relocation service, we were more than happy to help including valued customers such as Lesley Williams who required her Rhyl container to move over to Llandudno, we were more than happy to help!

Work in the community carried on through to Easter as Lock Stocked teamed with the Hummingbird Project, taking delivery of 100 of the chocolate treats from Lock Stock before heading out to those in need across Easter weekend.

The not-for-profit Community Interest company, which was launched two and a half years ago, is based in Abergele and serves the North Wales coast from Prestatyn to Conwy and inland to Denbigh and Llanrwst.

Heading into the summer things got busier than ever when the firm confirmed the capture of two new sites. Ludlow and Craven Arms were the latest strings to the Lock Stock bow, coming under the Lock Stock umbrella and expanding the organisation into new territories once more.

When you get to summer, for many, it’s perfect weather for a game of cricket. Area Manager Rob Jones went over to Buckley Cricket Club to unveil a brand new sponsorship and take in a junior game on a sunny July evening having already been over to Sandycroft School to make a donation for some brand new music equipment.

Keeping Wales Tidy became a priority as Autumn rolled in and we partnered with ‘Keep Wales Tidy’ to showcase their fantastic cause. An existing customer, the small army of public-spirited litter pickers keep the streets of North East Wales tidy from their base on Wrexham’s Ruabon Road.

We welcomed winter with a bang on Bonfire Night in our home town of Denbigh with our annual sponsorship of the Castle’s Fireworks, helping to raise money for the local Town Council and our staff volunteered to ensure the night went off without a hitch.

Now, it’s not often Mr Urdd turns up at work, but we were hugely fortunate to experience it in November! A customer of ours in Bangor, we shone a spotlight on the Urdd and the essential work they do across Wales.

Things didn’t slow down from there, with further community work coming again in Huyton where Mini Hyuton Soccer Under-8s unveiled their brand new kit courtesy of Lock Stock. The little kickers donned a brilliant orange kit and will soon be showcasing their skills like the Dutch stars of yesteryear.

Awards season rolled in with the firm sponsoring the Denbighshire Leisure Active Community Awards. An event close to our hearts, it celebrated the best of our community in Denbighshire across numerous categories and was a brilliant celebration at the Pavillion in Rhyl back in November.

Finally, this Christmas has been our busiest ever with several different projects for Lock Stock. Donations were made to causes across our sites at Ludlow, Bangor and Buckley whilst the launch of our Lock Stockings competition reached more than 40,000 people across social media.

Boxing Day saw the annual Roll the Barrell competition in Denbigh with thousands coming out in Denbigh before the Vale of Clwyd Derby between Denbigh Town and Ruthin in the afternoon.

Finally, when it comes to 2025, we’ll have a major announcement to make on New Year’s Day. Watch this space…

Thank you to everyone who has supported us in 2024!
