Lock Stock Self Storage are delighted to confirm the opening of our latest new site in Aberystwyth

The facility stands on land in the heart of the town at the rear of the town’s Lidl and Argos stores on the busy Rheidol Retail Park and boasts just shy of an acre of space.

It will have over 100 of our distinctive dark green units in a range of sizes from 10, 20 and 40 foot containers to suit a variety of needs across the region, with many already reserved by those in need of extra space.

It’s not just the units that are green; the site will feature solar-powered security lighting, and the ground is paved with recycled road materials, where you can even see traces of the double yellow lines – trucked in from a highway resurfacing project up the road at Corris.

The site will also have keyless entry with 24/7 access and a brand new advanced booking system with monitored CCTV and an intercom with a link to the head office in Denbigh, so new customers can sign up and start storing.

The site will be run by Lock Stock Regional Manager for North West Wales, Lee Hanson, who said: “We’re breaking new ground with our move into Ceredigion, and Aberystwyth is an ideal site for us.

“This is a university town, and there’s a definite need for storage here with a large student population and plenty of small businesses, and we’re right next door to the train station.

“Small businesses and tradespeople operate throughout Aberystwyth, and we offer a flexible and more affordable storage solution. They can easily call in at the start of the working day to pick up the materials they need, and with 24/7 access to their secure units, we find this fits perfectly around those who use us.

“They’re also ideal for students who may need short-term storage, particularly at the end of the university year in the summer and before they return to Uni in the autumn.”

Lock Stock Opens in Aberystwyth

The opening of the new site will continue the business’s rapid expansion following a first move into Cheshire earlier this year, which has already seen it open four sites in the north of the county, one each in Winsford and Runcorn and two in Northwich, with a fifth in Crewe opening before Christmas.

Operations Manager Mike Trow said: “We’re delighted to continue our expansion with our first storage park in Ceredigion, where our specialist team have been hard at work to get it open.

“Aberystwyth is a regional hub for this part of West Wales with its university, a major hospital and a strong commercial tradition, and we believe our flexible and affordable storage is a perfect fit.

“Our new site here reflects our focus on simplicity and flexibility with no minimum rental period and no notice required to vacate, while customers only pay for the time they use the unit.

“Our online booking system makes storing with us quicker and easier than ever, while new customers can sign up and move in within a few minutes.”

The company has a tradition of supporting local organisations and charities, and Trow added:

“At Lock Stock, we like to be involved in the communities where we operate by sponsoring local sports teams and partnering with schools, charities and community groups to make a positive difference.

“We’ll be supporting the local community in Aberystwyth as well because it’s all part of our commitment to giving back and being more than just a storage provider.”
