The Lock Stock Ardal North West is beginning to really heat up with battles across the table early doors.

Now in full swing, we’re starting to get a clearer picture on who will be battling where in a fantastic start.

Leading the Way.

With the opening stages of the campaign coming to a close, it couldn’t be tighter at the top end of the table. Bangor City 1876 lead the way on goal difference with 19 points, just ahead of Llangefni Town, who’ve had a superb start. Bangor have six wins from seven and remain unbeaten whilst Llangefni boast the same record, just three goals behind on goal difference.

Porthmadog sit a point behind the pair but have a game in hand, that could be key at this early stage in a battle we expect to go down to the wire.

A Good Start

Prestatyn sit four points behind the top three and will need to keep up if they’re in with a shout at immediate promotion back to the Cymru North. They faced Bangor last time out where despite Jake Walker’s wonder strike, left empty handed in a 4-1 loss.

Just three points separate 5th and 10th as NFA, Llannefydd, Trearddur Bay, Bethesda, Llanrwst and Mynydd Isa look to propell themselves forward. New-boys Bethesda and Mynydd Isa will be delighted with how they’ve started the campaign as they look to cement themselves in the third tier.

The Rest

Llay, Pwllheli, Felinheli and Connah’s Quay Town will be disappointed with their start to the season but know they’re only a run away from launching themselves forward. Connah’s Quay had a wonderful first season at this level whilst Llay’s relegation last season and early start could majorly hinder any hopes of an immediate return.

Need to Get Going

Two sides remain without a win in the division with bottom two sides St Asaph City and Penmaenmawr Phoenix. St Asaph’s points deduction has them on -2 and just a draw from their opening six games. Phoenix have the same record and both need to get in the win column if they aren’t to be cut adrift early doors.

St Asaph City are looking for points

Scoring Boots

Bethesda’s Osian Hughes has eight goals and tops the charts, half of which came when he scored all four in a 4-1 win over Penmaenmawr earlier this month. He’s grabbed six goals and three assists in his last two league games.

Bangor hot shot Corrig McGonigle has seven goals along with Trearddur Bay’s Tom Hilditch with both more than known at this level. Cavan Daley’s six goals for Llay have been key with the same amount scored by Byron Davis at Felinheli.

Coming Up

This weekend the Lock Stock Ardal Northern League Cup gets underway.

The Western section kicks off on Friday night  with two ties before the rest follow on Saturday.

Holders Porthmadog’s tie with Trearddur Bay is perhaps the most mouth-watering whilst there’s a rematch of the opening day of the season on Friday night when Prestatyn take on Mynydd Isa.

The second Friday clash has Llangefni take on Penmaenmawr where a win for the visitors could really get them going.

Elsewhere Bangor travel to Llanrwst and Bethesda meet Felinheli. Llay play host to St Asaph City and Connah’s Quay meet Pwllheli.

Another tasty one comes in Rhyl as NFA take on nearby Llannefydd at Ffordd Derwen.
