Hope House is a North Wales charity that runs a hospice providing vital respite and end-of-life care for local terminally ill children and their families. There is a lot of specialist equipment that needs to be available to help each child be comfortable and happy.

However, this equipment isn’t used constantly, which means it’s often taking up valuable space in the charity’s Oswestry headquarters that the charity could put to better use.

To help out, Lock Stock Self Storage is providing the charity with a 40-foot storage container, which has 2,500 sq ft of space, free of charge for a month during one of the charity’s busiest periods for events.

The storage unit is on our Maesbury Road site in Oswestry, and Hope House is using it to store specialist equipment such as pea-pod chairs that provide full support, specialist beds, and seasonal items like Christmas decorations.

Heath Arnfield, hospitality manager at Hope House, said that having access to the storage facility is making a big difference.

“It means that specialist equipment that is vital but which isn’t in use all the time can be stored here until the need arises and then, because we’re only five minutes away and can access this storage unit 24/7, we can easily pick it up,” he stated.

Phil Short, storage park manager at Lock Stock Self Storage’s Maesbury Road site, commented: “We’re delighted to be able to help out Hope House, which is such a worthy and popular charity and with good reason for the fantastic work they do.”

The Oswestry storage site is one of three that Lock Stock Self Storage operates in Shropshire, with a number of other storage parks located across North Wales.
