Nothing beats a visit to the seaside than treating yourself to fish and chips, as long as you can keep the seagulls away. Now a recent survey has found that you’ll get some of the best battered fish for your money in Llandudno.
Hotel chain Premier Inn reviewed over 500 independent stalls, kiosks, and takeaways in 100 of the UK’s most popular seaside towns to find that Wales offers the cheapest fish and chip suppers, with Aberystwyth, Swansea, Llandudno and Porthcrawl coming out on top, according to the North Wales Pioneer.
The Welsh seaside resorts came out with an average of £7.50 for a large portion of fish and chips - Llandudno’s was an average of £7.56.
In contrast, the most expensive region was Cornwall, with a trip to the chippy costing an average of £13 in Padstow, Fowey and St. Mawes.
A spokesperson for Premier Inn said: “Eating hot, salty fish and chips on the beach, or cooling down in the sand with a delicious creamy ‘99 are integral parts of the UK holiday experience which everyone should try. We were curious to find out which coastal town offered nostalgic foodies at the most budget-friendly prices.”
