As the country starts to open up more and more, with lockdown restrictions gradually being eased, life is beginning to return to relative normal - albeit with lots of social distancing measures in place, which will likely be in evidence for quite some time.
But this doesn’t have to get in the way of having fun and it seems there are still ways in which we can be entertained and enjoy lots of what we used to, with just a bit of lateral thinking.
Shrewsbury seems to have its finger on the pulse, with its first Drive-In Festival taking place on July 4th, with ticket holders to the sold-out event checking out lots of talented local acts while socially distancing in their cars, according to the Shropshire Star.
Music fans can listen to the bands through FM radios, with a DJ-led singalong also set to take place, using the Zoom app to send lyrics out. Street food can be ordered and delivered straight to the car, so you can really enjoy the festival in comfort. It sounds like a great night out to us!
There’s also going to be a comedy drive-in night on July 10th and The Most Spectacular Show on the 11th, with a ringmaster leading audiences through a production of singing, dancing, acrobats and more.
Those of you who were eagerly looking forward to this year’s Shrewsbury Folk Festival will also be pleased to hear they can catch the two-day event online on August 29th and 30th instead - so even if you didn’t manage to get tickets to the Drive-In Festival, you can still enjoy good music later this year.
