New coffee shop Providero in Llandudno has finally opened its doors on Upper Mostyn Street thanks to a wave of community funding launched on the Kickstarter platform – which certainly seems to be a very good way to start a business indeed!
Supporters of the tea and coffee shop were called on to pledge money to help bring the business to life and in return for their donations could choose various rewards, from £2 worth of coffee for every £1 donated and a barista course to a coffee bean subscription for a year, News North Wales reports.
Speaking to the news source, owner of the shop Jon Hughes said: “It is so humbling. I can’t thank people enough for helping us fund our dream and we aim to show our gratitude for every day we’re open.”
This isn’t the first time that Mr Hughes and his business partner (and wife) Ellie have opened a shop in this way. In fact, the first Providero coffee shop was opened in Llandudno Junction back in January 2014 after another successful Kickstarter campaign.
This is certainly a very inspiring story and could well spur you on to look into how you could set up a similar venture in this way. If you’re tempted, make sure that you research your hashtags before you start your project. You need to know which ones are popular and which ones will make your project famous so that you can maximise the number of contributions you receive.
