Lock Stock Self Storage has announced plans for a brand-new state-of-the-art storage park in Crewe, marking our first site in the town and the latest milestone in our rapid expansion across Cheshire.

Work is now underway on the 1.2-acre site at the junction of Catherine Street and Frances Street, which will regenerate an area left derelict following a major fire at a disused printworks in August last year.

The UK’s largest container-based storage provider, Lock Stock expects to open the new site next month. Once complete, the Crewe facility will offer over 150 storage units and feature solar-powered security lighting, keyless coded entry, and extended access hours from 6am to 11pm.

The site will also include Lock Stock’s advanced online booking system with monitored CCTV and a live intercom link to the company’s head office in Denbigh, allowing new customers to sign up and start storing within minutes.

The opening will extend Lock Stock’s growing Cheshire presence, following the launch of new storage parks this year in Winsford, Runcorn, and Northwich (with sites in both Lostock and Wincham).

Operations Manager Mike Trow said:

“We’re delighted to announce our first storage park in Crewe and to continue our expansion into the south of Cheshire. Crewe is a thriving, busy town with a great commercial tradition, and we believe our flexible and affordable storage is a perfect fit.

Our customers enjoy secure, keyless coded entry and complete flexibility, there’s no minimum rental period, no notice required to vacate, and you only pay for the time you use.”

Around 60% of Lock Stock customers are private individuals, from house movers to those storing treasured belongings, while 40% are small businesses using units for tools, equipment, and stock. The company is also seeing rising demand from students and continues to offer its off-site container hire and sales service, delivering storage units directly to customers via its own fleet.

Trow added:

“At Lock Stock, we’re proud to support the communities where we operate, sponsoring local sports teams, helping with charity events, and partnering with schools and community groups. It’s all part of our commitment to giving back and being more than just a storage provider.”
