A local family-run bakery is able to expand its business thanks to the help of Lock Stock Storage, which has provided much-needed storage containers to hold their increasing inventory of equipment.
Henllan Bakery has revealed it will open a second bakery on Denbigh’s Colomendy Industrial Estate in January 2020, which will create 20 new jobs in the local area. These new members of staff will join its 94 employees who help to create delicious bakes for supermarket giants Tesco, Asda and Morrisons, as well as smaller North Wales businesses, such as holiday parks and corner shops.
Production director Tom Moore said the new bakery will help cope with increasing demand for its bread, cakes and pastries, commenting: “We have grown massively and we had to make a decision to move and get bigger premises.”
To help the business grow, Henllan Bakery bought six containers from Lock Stock Storage in the last 18 months alone, which they use to hold important equipment, cardboard cake boxes, packaging and recycling materials.
Mr Moore added: “[Lock Stock Storage has] been a massive help for us in expanding and because the first factory was virtually landlocked, there was a storage space for us there and using containers for storage has been the best option.”
Lock Stock director Shon Powell noted that containers are good options for growing companies for several reasons, such as their security, their durability, including on long sea voyages, and they are not liable for business rates.
Having a delivery service that sends the containers immediately means firms can benefit from storage facilities at short notice. Indeed, Mr Moore said Lock Stock has been “wonderful” as “we can just pick up the phone and they react quickly”.
