2019 has started on a very positive note for Henllan Bakery, which is ready to bring its new bakery in Denbigh online.

The family-run firm has been based in North Wales since it started in 1908 and now it’s ready to expand. The new facility has created 20 new jobs and will allow the bakery to further expand its offering of baked goods.

When it first started, it was named Henllan Bread but it rebranded to Henllan Bakery in 2016 to better reflect the range of products if offered.

At the time, Henllan director Ed Moore said that they chose to change ‘Bread’ to ‘Bakery’ because it “incorporates everything we do and we think it will help with our growth”.

The company now employs nearly 100 people and it supplies a range of customers with baked goods, from large supermarket chains such as Asda, Tesco and Morrison’s to local corner shops and holiday parks in North Wales.

Tom Moore, production manager at the company, said: “The opening of the new bakery has meant lots of planning and the creation of new jobs and lots of apprenticeships aimed at bringing the next generation of bakers through.”

Mr Moore also revealed that in addition to producing breads and cakes, the new facility will also enable the firm to produce biscuits.

The bakery has been working with Lock Stock Self Storage for many years too, using our containers to support its growth and expansion.
