There are remarkable business stories dotted all over the country, but it’s always nice to hear about successes that have stood the test of time.
Shrewsbury-based Hafren Water is just one of those, having recently celebrated its 20th year in business. Shropshire Live highlighted the story of founder and company director Chris Leake, who set up the independent consultancy that specialises in environmental water. He started out on his own and now heads up a thriving multi-national business.
He puts his success down to sticking to his core principles, which he set back in 1998 when he founded Hafren Water.
“I wanted to build a business that would grow based on excellent reputation and the ability to provide the highest standard of service,” Mr Leake revealed. He added that he believes by “honouring the foundations” set out at the start, his company has been able to grow and continues to perform well.
He added that all of his team understand and support the objectives he laid out, noting that this has “helped us to offer a better quality of service to our clients, to maintain the long-term relationships that we enjoy with them”.
As well as working locally, Hafren Water is involved in projects around the world, including in places like Russia and Africa.
Hafren Water wasn’t the only business to celebrate 20 years of operating in recent months, with Shropshire Live reporting on the same milestone for Julie Anderson back in May. She has been making cakes for Sprinters Coffee Shop for two decades and estimates she’s baked 15,000 cakes in that time.
