UK Leisure Living, a hot tub business based in north Wales just outside Colwyn Bay, has picked up a prestigious industry award. Business News Wales reported on the win for the firm, which is part of the Carbon Zero Group, where it came home with the spa retailer of the year gong at the UK Pool & Spa Awards 2017. This is a big accolade, especially for a firm that’s only been in business for 20 months.
What’s more, this particular award wasn’t one you could apply for. The winner was chosen by the judges based on submissions in other categories. UK Leisure Living entered best UK team and best spa showroom.
Managing director Gareth Jones said that his business picking up the coveted award had “caused a real stir” in the sector, because they are such a new business to the spa industry.
However, he explained that they do things differently, which is one of the reasons why they stand out.
For instance, his firm offers a seven-day spa service, which means a customer can pick out a hot tub and have it installed within a week - considerably quicker than the industry standard of four to 12 weeks.
“We are strong in after-sales customer care as we have a team of engineers on the road that service and maintain hot tubs,” Mr Jones added.
There is a lot for Welsh businesses to be positive about at present, with the nation’s finance secretary Mark Drakeford recently announcing that they have secured a funding package worth £26 million from Europe designed to help get more young people into work in the country.
