Several firms from North Wales have been included in a list of the top companies to watch compiled by the London Stock Exchange.
The Daily Post revealed that eight businesses from the region feature in the Companies to Inspire Britain list, which is a compilation of 1,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK that are considered to be among the most dynamic and fastest growing in the country.
Three businesses from Wrexham appear on the list. Cable Services Group, CCP Group (Cheshire Concrete) and Tomlinson’s - a liquid milk processing business - are all based in the town and show the diversity of firms in the region.
Elsewhere, there were also three Deeside businesses included - KK Fine Foods, Flame Homeware and Expert Group. Colwyn Bay’s Jennings Building and Civil Engineering was highlighted as well.
Kent Periscopes in St Asaph was the final North Wales firm to feature in this national listing.
These companies could give others in the region something to aspire to, and with the news earlier this month that the Investment Bank of Wales intends to help SMEs in the region thrive by providing up to £1 billion in investments over the next five years, there could be further boosts to come.
Two locations in Wrexham are under consideration for the organisation’s new headquarters. The arrival of the bank could therefore be well-timed for those firms in the region that are already starting to grow, but that need a bit of extra help to take their next steps.
